Most couples spend between $2,500 and $6,000 on a Key West wedding photographer in 2026, depending on hours of coverage and whether one or two photographers are included. Intimate elopements can be photographed for considerably less through hourly pricing, typically starting around $500 for a one-hour session. Here’s exactly what drives the price and what you should get for your money.
After photographing more than 1,100 weddings on this island over 24 years, I’ve answered the “what does it cost?” question thousands of times. Most photographers make you fill out a form to find out. I’d rather you know what to expect before we ever talk.

Prices reflect Senses at Play packages as of 2026. Every package includes fully edited, non-watermarked high-resolution images with full printing and posting rights no hidden “digital files” fee.
Time is the biggest price factor. A sunset elopement needs one to two hours. A full wedding day, getting ready, first look, ceremony, family formals, golden-hour portraits, reception, needs eight or more. In Key West, I always recommend building your timeline around sunset first and everything else second; it’s the single best light of the day and it’s free.
A second photographer roughly doubles your angle coverage: one of us stays with the couple while the other captures guests, details, and candids. For weddings over 50 guests or with simultaneous events, two photographers are worth every dollar. For elopements, one is plenty.
This is where cheap packages get expensive. Ask every photographer you interview:
At Senses at Play, every package includes free digital negatives, full printing and posting rights, and online proofing. Approximately four weeks after your event you receive every edited image for immediate download and a sneak peek of about 20 photos within 24–48 hours, because we know you can’t wait.
If you book a mainland Florida photographer, expect to add travel, lodging, and per-diem fees, often $500–$1,500 on top of the package. Booking a photographer who lives and works in Key West eliminates that entirely, and you get someone who knows exactly where the light falls at Fort Zachary Taylor at 6:40 p.m. in March.
Elopements are priced differently, and this trips up a lot of couples who only see “wedding packages” starting at several thousand dollars. If it’s just the two of you, you don’t need ten hours of coverage. You need the right two hours.
Our hourly elopement pricing starts at [$X] and typically covers the ceremony, portraits at one or two nearby locations, and those first-married-moments candids. Most elopement couples invest [$X]–[$X] total. For a full breakdown, see our Key West elopement photography page.
You can find someone in Key West to shoot your wedding for $800. Here’s what that usually means: limited editing, watermarked or low-resolution files, no backup equipment, no backup photographer if they’re sick, and no insurance, many Key West venues require your photographer to carry liability insurance, so ask before you book anyone.
Your flowers wilt, the cake gets eaten, and the music stops. The photographs are the only part of your wedding day you keep. Price accordingly.
How much should I budget for a Key West wedding photographer?
Plan on $2,500–$6,000 for full wedding-day coverage, or [$X]–[$X] for an elopement with hourly pricing. Roughly 10–12% of your total wedding budget is a healthy benchmark.
Do Key West photographers charge travel fees?
Local photographers don’t. Mainland photographers typically add $500–$1,500 for travel and lodging to reach the island.
When do we get our photos, and does faster delivery cost more?
At Senses at Play, a sneak peek of ~20 edited photos is delivered within 24–48 hours and your complete edited gallery in about four weeks, included in every package, not an upsell.
Is a deposit required?
Yes — most Key West photographers, us included, hold your date with a signed contract and retainer. Peak-season dates go quickly, so book as early as possible.
Are prints and albums extra?
Digital files with printing rights are included in all our packages. Custom wedding albums (up to 90 photos) are $400, and gallery-level prints, canvas, and metal art are quoted individually, as Key West gallery owners, printing is our second craft.
